To serve automated lines of anthropomorphic robots.

Project Steel solution
On visiting the customer’s production site, we saw the need to build two models of container to hold the parts to be moved: one container for the stators and one for the rotors.
We used these findings to design and then build two prototypes, one of each type.
The challenge with the stator model was to build a container that was not only capable of accurately containing the parts and their dimensions – with minimal tolerances – but which could also position itself seamlessly on the centring supports already present on the production lines.
The challenge with the rotor model was to build a container capable of holding a polypropylene tray of specific dimensions and tolerances, which would also position itself seamlessly on the centring supports used for the previous container.
Advantages for the customer
Thanks to this custom design from Project Steel, Nidec:
- took delivery of containers that positioned seamlessly onto the existing centring supports already used for another container;
- optimised its transport planning by being able to use two different yet stackable containers.
